Book Five

It’s 2044, with Manar trapped in the virtual realm and Ndidi expecting a baby unlike any that has ever been born before, CJ and DJ face one overwhelming question—will they ever be able to stop Helene? The brothers need to learn to put aside their differences and work together, even though their mission to save the world seems futile.

Evolution is the fifth and final book in the award-winning Paper War series, and it brings the team’s crusade against the rogue AI Helene to its thrilling climax. With so much hanging in the balance, CJ, DJ and the entire team will be left questioning what really matters and whether they have made the right decisions in their journey so far.

Can they do enough to stop her plans in their tracks, and what will be the final cost of their efforts to save humanity? Is there a future without Helene, or should they be looking for ways they can live alongside her?

“It has been a far-reaching journey for fans of Ryan LeKodak’s Paper Wars series, but its crescendo to Evolution has been absolutely worth it. This is easily the most intensive deep dive into LeKodak’s brilliant, ultra high-tech Virtual Realm and, to me, the most incredible element of both the story and LeKodak’s writing. It’s a virtual booby trap, with shifting floors, mirrored passages, and mechanical obstacles. Fans have come the full stretch from the days of Mayday, but LeKodak has managed to totally and effectively spin all his plates, barreling us to one of the most energetic, imaginative, and suspense-filled closings in the genre. I am a fan for life. Very highly recommended.”
